The Taste of the Town is an annual culinary event and auction, and is held at the Knights of Columbus. The event has generated more than $100,000 during its five-year history and continues to be a successful venture for local restaurants to feature their unique foods. The Penguin Project presents "Annie Jr." Community Players of Streator is sponsoring the Penguin Project, designed to offer students with special needs, ages 10-24, the chance to perform live theater. "Annie Jr." is based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning musical.

Time Capsule Opening at the Streator City Park. 25 years ago, during the Quascicentenial, a time capsule was placed in the Streator City Park. We will kick off the Sesquicentennial by opening it.

Concerts will be:

Faculty Concert, Tuesday, June 12th at 7 PM at Park Presbyterian Church Student Showcase, Thursday, June 14th at 7 PM at Park Presbyterian Church Community Concert, Saturday, June 16th at 3 PM at Park Presbyterian Church

Additionally, there will be a 7:00-8:30 PM rehearsal Monday evening, June 11th for any interested community members singing in our Community Choir pieces

Fourth Annual Pluto Fest will be held at the Streator City Park from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The festival features the Big Bang Brewfest Homebrew Tasting hosted by local ALES Club; Crafters and vendors along with a variety of food vendors; Musical entertainment beginning at 12 noon with Radium City Rebels and their 50's style

Rock n' roll as well as cover artist Hunter Edwards and his acoustic sounds; Pluto items such as t-shirts, stamps, pint glasses and ornaments will be available to purchase along with raffle items; Face painting and magic by the Mark the Magician. A special highlight this year will be the reveal of the much anticipated Pluto Sculpture before it is moved to its permanent home at Anderson Field.

Sponsors for Pluto Fest include: Streator Tourism, Streator Dependable, How You Brewin', Tangled Roots Brewery, Anthony Liftgate, and ALES.

All proceeds to benefit the 2018 Streator Walldog Mural Project.

Stars and Stripes Sock Hop Kick off the Cruise night activitiesearly with a Sock Hop at the Streator Incubator (401 W Bridge St.) from 7 to 10 p.m.

September 1, 2018
Roamer Cruise Night and Car Show. The largest cruise night in downstate Illinois, featuring over 500 cars and 18,000 spectators in the downtown business district. On display is a 1917 Roamer, originally built in Streator. Cars will cruise from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday evening. Food, music, prizes, family fun. The car show will be held Saturday in City Park from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with trophies awarded.

Light Up Streator, the fourteenth anniversary of the lighting of the Christmas holiday decorations in the City Park,  will be at 6:30 p.m

Vendors will be at Park Place, Bruce Township Hall, and the VFW from  9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
